Support Us

Supporting Children Today changes the lives of children and young people who are in desperate need of specialist equipment or aids not available to them on the NHS. The grants and funding that we provide buy specially designed equipment that brings greater quality of life and independence to children with disabilities in the UK.

Children Today rely entirely on voluntary donations - we receive no help or funding from the government or social services. By donating to Children Today you are helping one of the thousands of disabled children and young people that are in desperate need of help and assistance.

Imagine not having the chance to realise your full potential

Being able to walk and move is often the foundation for many communication skills. Children who cannot speak or verbally communicate often need others to try to explain what they are trying to say.

Specially designed walking aids give children the chance to be mobile and independent. Many children with physical disabilities find it extremely frustrating that they cannot run and play with their peers. Mobility aids enable disabled children to move independently and socialise with other children and to develop and achieve skills that will help them in the future.

Imagine not being able to communicate with your family or friends

This unfortunately is a reality for many children with disabilities who do not have the specialised help and equipment they need to develop basic communication skills. Children Today provide a wide range of communication aids to disabled children each year, such as touch screens for computers and specially designed software – helping some children communicate for the first time.

We believe communication tools are essential for a child’s development. Without them many disabled children are not being given the chance to grow and develop that they deserve. Children Today has helped many children communicate for the first time but there are still a lot of children who desperately need our help.

Support and Stimulation

For severely disabled children physical support and sensory stimulation is vital in aiding relaxation and physical control.

Children who are so severely disabled often cannot relax their muscles or have difficulty controlling physical movements. Specially designed sensory stimulation aids like Fibre Optic Sprays help to provide stimulation for the mind and help relax body movement.

Children Today purchase Light Projectors, Bubble Tubes and many other specialised tools which aid sensory stimulation through light, touch and sound and also aid relaxation.
