Where will the money go?
Every effort will be made to ensure that the money you raise will be spent on helping children and families in your local area.
Children Today provide grants for vital, life changing equipment for disabled children and young people all over the UK. We believe that the provision of specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities has a direct and immediate impact on their quality of life and independence and is vital in helping them to overcome obstacles to live a life of greater freedom.
We have helped Holly get her confidence back and gain Independence
Holly, a captivating and cheerful little 4 year-old girl from Worcester has a condition called "Aperts Syndrome" resulting in webbing of her fingers and toes. This has meant that Holly has needed several hand operations to improve her digit formation. Although Holly manages well to manipulate objects, her hand grips are restricted especially in terms of spanning larger objects. Holly also wears insoles in specialised boots to take the pressure off the balls of her feet which are prominent. At times Holly has been reluctant to walk distances, therefore, to encourage exercise and independence a specially adapted Trike was suggested.
Holly's mum contacted Children Today and within 28 days received a response from our grants panel awarding her the full amount required to purchase the Trike.
Holly's Trike is due to be delivered soon and with the promise of summer we hope to see Holly out and about enjoying herself alongside her friends and relatives.
